Garden Route

The Garden route is an amazing and scenic road trip that takes you through the heart of the Western Cape in South Africa from Cape Town to the border of Tsitsikamma Storms River in the Eastern Cape. Undoubtedly the most scenic part of the Western Cape, with undulating roads, spectacular ocean views, unspoilt beaches, mountain passes, ancient forests, gruelling hiking trails, delightful food and craft markets. The name comes from the verdant and ecologically diverse vegetation encountered here and the numerous estuaries and lakes dotted along the coast. It includes towns such as Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Mossel Bay, George, Wilderness, and Sedgefield.

Many of the highlights along the route include, Gondwana Game Reserve near Mossel Bay, Knysna Heads and Knysna Lagoon, nature trails and beach walks at Wilderness and the award winning Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre
